If you want to go the cheap route, simply play white noise from your phone’s speakers. Maybe your hotel room has a fan in it, and if it does, this can be another option for white noise. White noise is so beneficial to babies, and might help give them that extra push that they need to fall sleep in a different environment.

I would NOT bring a porta crib since all is going well with toddler bed. Ask the hotel for an arrangement that has a sofa bed. These are lowere to the ground and will make your child feel special and on vacation. At 3 years old she is not in much danger of falling out of bed.

Bring along a favorite stuffed toy, pillow, and/or blanket that is usually part of his bed, and it will feel much more familiar right away. When you get to the hotel room, point out his temporary bed, let him jump all over it and explore the pillows and blankets.
